Requirements to Begin Flight Training

  • First, you Must be at least 17-30 years old.
  • You are at least 160 cm Tall and Medically Fit.
  • Your English language proficiency meets or exceeds TOEFL 510 or 5.5 per element for IELTS or iBT 65
  • Also, you must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
  • Students must be able to obtain an FAA/GCAA/DGCA medical certificate.
  • Most importantly, you must be proficient in English.
  • Additionally, you must hold a valid passport with at least 6 months before expiration.
  • Furthermore, you will need to apply for and receive an M1 visa/Students Visa.
  • Finally, you must be available to be a full-time student 5 days per week.

A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) is a qualification that permits the holder to act as the pilot of an aircraft and get paid for his/her work.

Requirements for course enrollment

  • Valid GCAA Private Pilot License (A).
  • Valid GCAA Class (1) Medical Certificate.
  • Valid GCAA ATPL distance learning Theoretical Knowledge Certificate.
  • 180 – 200 hrs. Flight time
  • Basic Instrument Certificate.
  • Night Rating
  • 100hrs Pilot-In-Command (PIC)
  • 20hrs of Cross Country flight time as PIC including a cross-country flight of not less than 300 N.M. during which a full stop landing at two different airports must be made.
  • For skill test or endorsement\ on the license, student must complete 200 flying hrs.

Duration of CPL Ground Classes

The duration of CPL ground classes can vary depending on the flight school and the country’s aviation regulations. Typically, ground school can take between 3 to 6 months of theoretical instruction, though this depends on the intensity and schedule of the program.

CPL Examinations

After completing ground school, students must pass a series of written exams administered by aviation regulatory authorities (e.g., the FAA in the U.S., GCAA in the UAE. EASA in Europe, or DGCA in India). Each subject covered in the ground school will have its corresponding exam, and students need to score at least the minimum passing marks (often around 70%) to proceed to the next phase of flight training.

What is CPL Ground School?

CPL Ground School is a theoretical training program designed to provide aspiring commercial pilots with the foundational knowledge they need to pass the written exams required for their CPL.
